THE DISCO BOYS - DJs WITH HEART AND SOUL
Â
When the DJ became a Popstar
The era of the disk-jockey began in the mid-70's. Records were no longer simply put on, they were celebrated. It was the birth hour of the clubs in which night was turned into day. The people who prepared the music with pep where the heroes of the hour. DJs such as Larry Levan, Nicky Siano, Frankie Knuckles and Steve Silk Hurley began to mix vinyl records into each other, to lengthen certain parts with two of the same vinyls, and to drive the dancers ecstatic with only two turntables. The beat became endless. The era of simply putting one record on after another was gone forever. Clubs such as the Paradise Garage, the Gallery, the Loft and the Warehouse became legendary, and Disco was transformed into House.

The Mission of The Disco Boys
This is the tradition in which the Disco Boys see themselves. In 1995 they were among the first to consistently mix original disco vinyl with current house music. Their focal point is the dance floor. If the floor is not rocking they are not satisfied. And the two boys themselves are bopping behind the Technics 1210. Always in partner look, with stunning hairstyle and sunglasses, their looks alone are enough to get the party off the ground. Raphael and Gordon don't see themselves as faceless DJs, but rather as entertainers that thrill their public and bring them to a joyful frenzy. They are now an established feature of the German club landscape. Wherever they mix the music the clubs are bursting at every seam.
Â
Once around the World
In summer 2004 the two boys were rocking every Sunday on Ibiza and had a number-1 hit in their bag with the single "For You" (featuring Manfred Mann’s Earth Band). From there things just took off and DJ gigs followed in the USA, Thailand, England, France, Korea and China. As really straightforward guys they were very welcome guests in the clubs. And not only there, they also featured regularly at major events such as Mayday, Love Parade, Nature One, Time Warp and Sensation White. Given their full schedule the problem is finding a free slot for all the requested appearances. The Disco Boys are booked out months in advance. Their Mix CDs, which appear yearly, are much sought-after. "The Disco Boys – Volume 1" has been known to pass hands on eBay for over 200 euros. "The Disco Boys – Volume 7" went immediately to 2nd place in the Media Control Compilation Charts.

Best House Artist
At the "Dance Music Awards 2005" handed out during CeBit, the Disco Boys were selected by the public as the "Best House Artist". Their talent as producers is increasingly sought after, as is shown not only by their own singles but also by remix orders for Bootsy Collins, The Bee Gees and Marquess. In their productions the Disco Boys are a guarantor for peak time hymns and floor-fillers, just like they are with their DJ sets. Their mix of current house and electro tracks and sounds from the '70s and '80s is unique. When the Disco Boys take up their position behind the turntables you can sure that the party will rock all night long. Tonight is party time, it's party time tonight!
